MAKING THE MOST OF SUNDAY

At Grace we feel the most important hour for your family is during the Sunday morning worship service. Make the most of Sunday by preparing your family for worship.

BEFORE THE SERVICE:

• Read this Sunday’s sermon passage as a family to prepare you to receive God’s Word.
• Begin singing this Sunday’s song list in your home to prepare your hearts for praise.
• Pray as a family for God to work in the lives of your family this Sunday.

DURING THE SERVICE:

• Bring your child along with you as you greet fellow church members.
• Encourage your children to stand with the congregation during singing.
• During a song, explain the words and/or the song’s meaning to your children.
• If we are observing the Lord’s Supper, remind your children what this means.
• Allow your children to place your family’s tithe into the offering plate.
• Have your child read along with you in your Bible during the Scripture reading.
• Encourage your child to fill out their own sermon notes and discuss them afterwards.
• Have your kids help clean up after the service by picking up trash or helping stack chairs.

AFTER SERVICE:

• Discuss what each family member’s favorite part of the service was.
• Discuss what each family member learned during the service.
• Make a plan to apply the sermon’s message to your family’s life.
• Pray that God would help you to continue to worship Him the rest of the week.

TIPS FOR THE YOUNGER ONES:

• Pick up the Kid’s Bulletins in the church lobby.
• Encourage your child to draw the sermon.
• Use your search engine to look for color sheets dealing with the sermon’s text.
• Download “Sermon Bingo” cards.
• Bring a Children’s Bible to church.
